Some people have mentioned looks from passerbys as they take pictures from odd positions. I would like to hear some stories on that subject. Photography not a requisite, could be any hobby. Mine is: I was studying beetles in road kills and dung. I had already lost four or five sets of 10" tweezers, at about 6$ each. Then it hit me, I am proficient with chopsticks. They are cheap and biodegradable. The looksI got with tweezers was NOTHING to the looks the chopsticks brought. Enjoy the day, Bill

If I had seen you, I would have taken a picture. Great Street photography.
I don't understand...laying down picking beetles out of a dung pile with chop sticks is considered unusual?

I once placed my good looking model on a busy sidewalk and them laid on back to shoot up at her.
Nobody knew how long I’d been laying there.
I got some GREAT up-skirt shots.
My model was wearing pants!!!

Next time put a tall glass of milk next to the poo
Perhaps years ago, the sight of a photographer working in a public place and assuming a funny position or stance would attract "funny looks". Nowadays with so may photography enthusiasts and the proliferation of cell phone cameras- folks taking pictures are commonplace. I have seen people shooting bugs on the ground, climbing up lampposts and atop cars and doing all kinds of shenanigans and being virtually ignored. I saw a guy shooing "selfies" at a funeral with the open casket in the background! Hardly anyone there took notice.
I have even done a few fashion shoots on the streets and have attracted only a few onlookers.
Just don't photograph gang members engaged in criminal activities and stay out of schoolyards and playgrounds with you cameras any nobody will bother with you! And please...don't be shooting pictures under anyone's clothing... you may attract attention from the POLICE or be set upon by angry folks!

If you were in the middle of the road using chop sticks on road kill, I can understand the weird looks.

I was at a beautiful recently renovated covered bridge (Now only a walking bridge) and was laying flat on my stomach centered at one end shooting lines to the other end when a family came in. when the Mother saw me she screamed. I really don’t understand why she screamed just because in a dark bridge entrance a man laying flat face first. Also when she screamed it caused me to flinch and lost that shot😳. But I did get some keepers. She didn’t understand what the importance of what I was doing and that’s when I got my Wierd look.

I would move them to shoulder for safety. I am not sure if using chopsticks on a roadkill would be considered middle of the road. Bill
