Hi,
Just joined this group.
Bought a Lensbaby 3G on eBay and became so fascinated with it I soon graduated to a Composer Pro and now am the proud owner of a special edition Velvet 56.
I'm including two recent shots. The first one was taken using an IR converted camera. Both were taken in my wife's beautiful garden. Have looked at some of the members photos, Beautiful.
Not sure if there is any limitation on size so I reduced them to 8"-10".

Welcome to the world of Lensbaby. I'm new in this also. The person to see is Angela . She is the one that got me started and I'm very happy she got me into it. She does absolutely beautiful work with the LB lenses. Check out her work. Look in the close-up section she posted "more purple" and there you can check out her Flicker photos.....Rich
Thanks for the welcome bigwolf40.

Beautiful shots, Rich, and congrats with your V56.... I love that lens!! I have many lensbabies, but am not familiar with the 3G! Since you bought the Composer Pro, what optics do you have to use with it??
...and I would suggest you post in the closeup section... not many people subscribe to this section and it would be a shame for others not to see your work.
Hi Angela,
Thank you for the compliments. I will post it in the other section. The 3G was one of their earliest lenses.
I had a composer pro with the sweet 35 optic but sold it to purchase the V56. I missed it and today just purchased another one with the sweet 35. Love your work, I'm very impressed. What other lensbabys do you have?
I am so happy I discovered lensbaby, it's opened up a whole new super bokeh world for me.
Thanks again for the compliments. Hopefully we can stay in touch.

Rich, it does my heart good to hear another man impressed and loving the lensbabies... how I hated all the talk about being sharp!! lol...
To me, shooting with a baby, is like shooting a dream and because of the manual focus, it makes you slow down and think about the shot.
I have the Sweet 35 & 50 and love using the Sweet 50 with the 8mm macro converter... in fact I love using the macro converters with all the optics I have.
Plus I have a lot of the older optics, you can get them really cheap on ebay.. like the Soft Focus, Single, Double Glass & Plastic. With these optics, you need to manually insert the aperture ring, but f4 is usually a safe bet, they all create beautiful effects.... lastly, I also have the Velvet 56 and the Edge 50. The hardest part is deciding which one to use!! lol... The Composer Pro w/ Sweet 35 was my very first... this Christmas will be 2 years, they are so addicting, I just kept adding on!!
It's nice seeing someone new using a lensbaby... I look forward to seeing more of your work!!
Hi again Angela,
I guess my next purchase will be a macro kit, also a CPL filter for my V56. I've looked on eBay for a double glass but they only come with the composer, which I already have. (Or will have when it gets here). It's nice to come across someone else who likes bokeh and soft edges. My wife is one who thinks photos should be sharp. I love the V56's macro setting, this is a bonus as I didn't realize it had one when I bought it. The nice lady at closeup photos was very nice and encouraging, thanks for the suggestion. Lensbaby is truly addictive in a good way.

Hi Rich.... Donna is the very nice lady and also a dear friend... she manges the CloseUp section and is also a Lensbaby pro!!!
As far as the macro converters go... I have the two piece set 8mm & 16mm and they go into the Composer Pro before the optic... now Rich (Bigwolf) just bought the screw on macro lenses that go right on the optics... I don't know what the difference would be, but I know I love using mine.
Have fun with this lensbaby addiction... they should come with a warning.. they are like potato chips, you can't just have one!!
It certainly is addictive.
Just received the second edition of Corey Hilz' second edition of "LENSBABY bending your perspective". 311 pages worth of great photos and updated info on the current lensbaby gear.
Got it at Amazon.

It took me a long time before I got the courage to bend the neck... but it is fun!! I have the first edition of that book and it was full of lots of info that I didn't know at the time!!
Enjoy!!!
Forgot to mention it earlier. Went onto Flickr to load some photos. Went looking for a Lensbaby group. Didn't find one so I started one.
