National New York Central Railroad Museum

Today, my wife and I drove over to Elkhart, Indiana, just east of us. The "National New York Central Museum" is crowded into land around the old NYC freight station, just across the tracks from the passenger station. Fortunately I had my Sigma 10-20mm lens with me {which I got for situations like this} and my Pentax 18-135mm, because most all of my pictures were taken at wide angle ... or wider than that. Here are pictures of equipment I considered to be most "historic".

I'm not certain why this GG-1 is here at all. It was used successively by Pennsylvania RR {arch enemy of NYC}, Penn Central, Conrail, then New Jersey Transit - but never by New York Central

According to the list I found, this particular locomotive was never used by Amtrak.
