Canon Patents Yet Another Lens Mount - Maybe This Is How They Do "FF" On MILC

I managed to get all the important stuff in the title, but here is the link:

This is more than just extending 'FF' to MILC. It uses a serial communications scheme, which is slower than a comparable parallel scheme, but provides increased flexibility.

So that means the new FFMC will not accept those "old Canon lens" of any flavor.

Patent doesn't say that. I'm guessing they will have an adapter - may even initially include it with camera as they did with the first EOS-M.

Sony has plans to be number 1 in 3 to 4 years. I believe Canon is not willing to become number 2 and is working on doing something about it.

Canon Rumors and Canon Watch have rumors that the new mount will be a hybrid take can take it's own native lenses and EF/EF-S lenses. Neat trick if they can pull it off.
