Got to take my new Nikon D500 out this past weekend. Went to Tiber Reservoir fishing for walleye...hmmm spent most of the time playing with the camera instead of fishing...lol
I upgraded from the Nikon d5300 to the d500 --- this new camera is way more forgiving!
1. Found a Golden Eagles nest high up on a cliff face - taken from the boat
2. Waited for Momma to leave - climbed up a different hill to get a shot of the chick
3. Watched these goosling's hatching - taken from the boat
4. Seagulls and - I have no idea what the other birds are --- figure someone could tell me - taken from the boat
5. Sunset from camp
6. Ok -- I did fish some of the time!
What do you all think? The sunset and fish were taken with the Tamron 16-300 mm lens and the Eagles, Gooslings and Seagulls were taken with a Tamron 150-600mm - all hand held.
I went between Apeture and Shutter priorities -- tried manual but didn't do to well because I couldn't change the settings fast enough to get the shots I wanted. I would get confused between the two dials and miss the shot...lol.
Congratulations on your new toy. Love the photos and the love of the newborn and life's trials. BTW what was the size of your fish. Great sunset. Looks like you had a complete enjoyable weekend. Mahalo for sharing.
WOw, Cindy! You did good work with that toy (and your fishing rod).
What a treat. I've never seen a golden eagle chick before. He/she
has a lot of beak to grow into. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you and he was fun to catch...got my heart pumping when I got him in the net!
Thanks! We go to Tiber a couple times a year to fill the freezer with walleye.
I believe #4 the white, red and black bird with the gulls is a Black Skimmer.
