Some pix from the last couple of years-taken on the CNO&TP, second and third sub-divisions, which is part of the NS railway, running through Tennessee and Kentucky. This line gained the nickname "Rathole" for all of the tunnels. A major re-alignment in the early 60's eliminated most of the tunnels, but the line is still pretty rugged and spectacular-and a lot of fun to photograph.

Good set, and beautiful scenery.
Thanks for taking us there.
In Wikipedia, I discovered there is quite some detailed history that pertains to this interesting, functional rail line.
Others may wish to check it out. /Ralph
I appreciate all of the kind comments. I'm a big fan of photographing this line, and being a "Florida Flatlander", I really enjoy the mountains and ruggedness of this line. Much of it is pretty easy to access as it Parallels US Hwy 27 once you get north of Wartburg-much of it very closely. To get to the tunnels and bridges, it takes a little bit persistence and study, and a lot of the old tunnels that were by-passed, are still in place-some accessible.
A great set Travis.; Nice variety and well done! 👍
Great shots! (I love the trestle photo)
