Essential Tips To Printing Amazing Photos

Great 14:30 minute video on the subject; if you are thinking about printing your photos and you haven't in the past or if you have been printing DIY and want to try a commercial lab, this video is worthwhile. Maybe some HOG pros could share lab recommendations here.

(Warning: like all free photo tutorials, there is a sales pitch weaved in, it's for a photo paper company, it starts @ the 10:30 mark and lasts for two minutes. Note that there is some interesting content about printing with/without borders after the commercial pitch.)

In the Develop Module, there is a Soft Proof check box in the bottom left. THis will allow you to see if there are any blown out areas in your image that will print incorrectly.
Use the Magnification tool to scan your image for dust spots. I ruined a 13x19 print yesterday because I forgot to check.
Find printer profiles for the paper you are using to print. Unless you've got an Epson printer with Canon paper, or Canon printer with Epson paper. Leave the default profile in place.
