Golden Opportunities Photography during
The Golden Hours.

"Hour" is figurative here. The golden hour refers to the period just after sunrise or just before sunset, and its length depends on where you are, what time of year it is, and the weather conditions. Also, while the terms are nearly synonymous, golden hour actually has a definition based on the measurable angle of the sun to the horizon it's a special time for photography. But why, exactly?
Light. Light is the most important photographic element. The light just after sunrise and just before sunset is unlike any other light and it can't be replicated, no matter how hard you try (well, you could cheat if you have photo-editing software, but it doesn't beat the real thing or feel as rewarding). There are a few things about this kind of light that make it unique and beloved.
Remember, golden hour is not sunset or sunrise, but shortly before and after those times when your subject still has direct light falling on it. The magical golden light will transform your photos from ordinary to extraordinary. It's all about the light!

Lets see you've got, I'm sure they're all Gorgeous.
And thank you in advance for participating in the
Golden Opportunities Challenge..

Thanks for hosting Photogirl! It truly is the magic hour! Our club goes out each Sunday morning to different shoots. We always let the members know what time Sunrise is.

This was at Archie Coulter's Conservation Area which is about 20 minutes from our home. It was in March this year. John and I were the first ones there and we were the lucky ones that got these pictures taken shortly after sunrise.

I won't even go there unless it is heading towards sundown.......daytime temps in summer can reach 110 and I could go blind from the glare!!! But luckily it isn't that far from where my husband grew up, so he drives us there after dinner. I can take my photos, and my grandaughter can slide the sand dunes on a saucer. I have them drop me off so I don't have that mess in my photos. Hopefully, I will get to go again in July. One of my favorite places to experiment. It is so different than where I live or where I grew up. But I wouldn't want to live in the desert......I'm used to alot of green growing things. Thanks for the compliment!

Overhead lamp at my local Mediterranean restaurant. Our was "Golden" because I had just finished stuffing my face with some delirious Chicken Shawarma and Fattoush salad

I could walk right down that trail, and I can see why the last one is a favorite. A happy golden moment.
