It is harder to be a conservative then a liberal, cause you have to pay for all the liberals "gimmie"s. Not to mention acepting personal RESPONSIBILITY FOR YOUR LIFE INSTEAD OF HAVING A LIBERAL VICTIM MENTALITY. Instead of trying to turn the US into France, why don't all liberals just move to France?

I don't want to start a fight!!!!, and I do avoid name calling (usually).
But to this Liberal, Conservatives to see to be uncaring for those who need a hand, and seem to want to blame the underprivledged (poor) for their circunstances. I used to understand conservative views and could have interesting philosophical discussins with conservative freinds. Things seem to be more extreme today.
I'm not sure how we get back to civility.

Why is it easier to gives helping hand in the leftist sense when you just have the government do it for you with other's money? Another load of predictable drivel from those who believe in the right to enslave.

More predictable childish taunting drivel, nothing else is possible from you, as usual.

Who, after all, runs the Salvation Army? As I've said before the hospitals in our town, other than the county hospital, are St. Paul, Baylor (Baptist), and Presbyterian, all Christian organizations. The large orphanage here that was opened in the 19th century and now closed was opened by the Baptists. In addition to the Red Cross, an organization called Baptist Men respond to major emergencies like hurricanes and fires.
The philosophical difference between conservatives and liberals is simple. It's easier to provide a handout than a job.

And what are you paying for? What's the complaint? I thought you were on SS benefits...that's a liberal payout you know.

micro, I don't think being 'uncaring' towards others has anything to do with being a Conservative. A Liberal can also be just as uncaring as the next person. But let us face facts, this guy, the OP came out of the gate swinging. In a way, he was giving us all the finger and giving Liberals a black eye. If you want me to come over to your way of thinking, or at most, meet you half way then do it with a smile and a hand-shake before throwing the first punch. :-D

I agree that the OP was confrontational. But it pales in comparison to Steve R's responce.
I used to have arguements about which is the best way to improve American life, now the arguements are resticted to name calling. Congress, as pittyful as it is, only reflects the extremes that "we the people" have come to. Sad.
