Blue Heron with a trout

Saw this heron spear this trout early the other morning. Trout seem to be a perfect food for them: long and not too big around, and go down easy and quick! Watched one eat a big fat black crappie a while back and it was a real struggle.

Wow, so neat. What a lucky bird, we need a "Trout Stamp" to catch trout in season where we are.
