As a child, our family did not have a travel budget, therefore growing up in St. Cloud, MN, I didn't get to go to Duluth. Therefore, one year when I traveled home from TX with my daughter to see my family, when we got in the car to drive home, I asked her if she'd be up for a week in Duluth. She just look at me with those deer in the headlight eyes and said, "What about dad?" I said, "I guess we can call and check with him," smiling. Of course we went and had a wonderful week.

Duluth sits on the north shore of Lake Superior on the westernmost point of the Great Lakes. It is the tourist destination for the midwest. Of course it was pretty cool when we went, so we didn't have to fight off the crowds and we both like the cold, but we did end up buying some fleece jackets.

Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Not the best place in the area to bike because of the walkers, kids , dogs etc but worth doing once.

It is so hard for me to answer you with that big old spider there on your hand, but I'll keep trying. Hey, maybe I'll get over my phobia; my daughter would be so proud of me. I think you're right, usually most adventures are worth the trouble at least once in your lifetime, unless life threatening.

Sorry, it took me several minutes before I realized you were referring to the tarantula; they told me she was totally harmless and I'm not sure about that.

Ah, I see. It may or may not be. But to me all spiders are harmful, but just to my anxiety, I am afraid.
