Have a 7DmkII plus about 6 lenses and stuff.

I have a question if someone might answer for me please -

I have a Fancier 244AT tripod with a BH-02 ballhead and I am trying to source a quick release plate for the ballhead (as a backup).

I am having trouble finding a) the Fancier website and/or b) a store selling the plate. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get one of these?
thanks

I have a RRS "ARCA" style plate. It's for sale. It's not an "L" bracket just, a flat plate.

That looks like a standard Arca Swiss plate.
Tons of them available from Amazon.

Thanks but it is a specific plate that fits the BH-02. The plate has ridges that slide into channels on the ballhead so it needs to be exact or it won't slide in.

I use Manfrotto QR plates on everything. There are even generic copies available for a lower price. I've found that if I can attach a camera to something, I can attach the Manfrotto mounting plate.

I, too, use the Manfrotto plates, have 5 cameras and 3 tripods and have plates and brackets on everything. I think they are great.

Manfrotto plates WON'T WORK! At least, MOST of them won't. Their most common smaller rectangular and larger hexagonal type plates are proprietary to Manfrotto heads ONLY. Neither will fit or work on that ballhead. Just recently Manfrotto has begun using an Arca-compatible plate on several heads. That would work... but are a lot less common and I see no reason to pay what they want for them, since there are many Arca-compatible plates available from a various retailers at much more favorable prices.

Just look ANYWHERE for Arca compatible lens or camera plates. There are hundreds of them in different sizes and types in dozens of brands from many different retailers. Arca Swiss are the most universal and widely available type of quick release. Just search for them at the retail outlet of your choice.... eBay, Amazon, any of the major online retailers, etc. They all have them. (Don't search for "Fancier"... search for "Arca quick release plate".)

There are even custom made, model-specific camera plates and lens tripod ring Arca-compatible parts available from folks like Kirk Photo, Wimberley, RRS, Hejnar Photo and others. Heck, several of the latest Tamron lenses even have an Arca-compatible dovetail cut right into their tripod mounting ring feet, right from the factory.

I switched from the proprietary Manfrotto QR plates and platforms to Arca-compatible stuff years ago.... the Arca stuff is far more widely available and works better for many things (gimbal mounts, for example, pretty much require them).

I have custom Arca camera plates on all my cameras (incl. a pair of 7D Mark II with battery grips, two 7D w/grips, 5D Mark II w/grip and others). I also have them on all my lenses that have tripod mounting rings (two 70-200s, three 300mm, 100-400mm, 500mm, three macro lenses and others). Several Wimberley flash brackets I use also are designed to work with Arca plates. I've even got a couple old Manfrotto (or maybe Bogen) heads (one ballhead, one pan/tilt) that have been modified to work with Arca platforms.

Are you looking for a backup head or a plate?

If you are looking for a plate, all you need to know is that it is Arca Swiss compatible. Arca Swiss is a brand, but it has also become a standard. The plates are available in many, many brands.

Go to Amazon, B&H, Really Right Stuff, or a local camera store if you have one.

Apologies Bill. Did not see your post nor your PM until today. I've been reading the posts on my phone and the headings don't show the same as they do on the desktop.

I appreciate the offer but I am in the South West of Western Australia so mailing things is a little cost-prohibitive. Thanks anyway.

Here are several pages of Arca/Swiss compatible products. Amazon also has a ton of them, but I couldn't get the Amazon page to link up to this post.

Thats the thing with arca swiss clamps , you don't need to find a specific part if it has the arca swiss dovetail. I just bought a 140 mm nodal slide rail for about €10 free postage from hong kong ( pretty much just because my 200mm is a touch too long for ultra wide angle shots). I like the rail as it lets me balance my camera on the head.
