I've been reading this forum for several months and decided to introduce myself. Been living in the Black Hills of South Dakota on and off since 1970 when I started my Air Force career at Ellsworth AFB. Retired from Ellsworth 23 years later including assignments to Omaha, NE, Colorado Springs, CO, Ogden, UT, Comiso, Italy and finally Rapid City, SD. Photographic subjects are plentiful here in the Black Hills including buffalo, elk, antelope, bighorn sheep, mountain goats, eagles, osprey, coyote etc etc. Must also mention incredible scenery not only in the Black Hills but in the surrounding area as well. We are blessed with spectacular vistas in Badlands NP, Wind Cave NP and Custer State Park. Not sure if my budding skills in photography will do justice to the fabulous opportunities available here but I'll try...
Welcome to UHH HRBIEL and thank's for your service to our Country. Love the photograph. Fantastic Bluebird! I would love to get to that part of the country to shoot sometime - I hear it's beautiful. Look forward to seeing more of your posts.
Welcome to the forum.
Nice shot.
First, thank you for your service from another veteran. I have never been to your state(flying over it doesn't count), so I look forward to your posts. There is a wealth of information and great photos here!
Welcome to the forum.Beautiful capture!
Welcome to the forum. Nice start.
Thanks everyone. I was actually surprised this bluebird was even in the frame. I was a little late on the draw. If you look closer, the image is a little soft.
I agree, a bit soft. But still a nice shot!
Welcome to the forum from a fellow AF retiree. Ellsworth was my 1st duty assignment in 1976 and now I return every year for vacation. A wonderful area. Custer State Park and Crazyhorse are two of my favorite places to visit and photograph. Keep those shots coming!
