Hello, I have a Canon 17-85mm. IS Lens that seems to have a hard time locking on a focus point when I extend past 70 mm. It just keeps jumping from point to point. I tried it in different light scenarios, but still no luck. Any ideas?

Have you tried setting the camera to use one center focus point?

Which camera do you have and which mode are you shooting in?

I have the Canon 760D, and I was shooting in Aperture Priority and also in Shutter Priority.

How did you get one marked 760D instead of T6s? Did you buy it in Europe?

it is a T6s, not sure why I always say 760D.

I have a EF-S 17-85mm IS USM that only locks focus at 17. It just hunts and hunts in all shooting modes. Checked all settings and cleaned contacts. I went on line and read dozens of reviews with the exact same issue. I have a 7D camera.

Did cleaning the contacts help?

Cleaning contacts didn't help in my situation. I believe this might be a possible reason Canon stopped manufacturing this lens.
