Almost ANY SD Card reader will work just fine with your D3300 cards. If your computer has USB 3 ports then use a USB 3 compatible reader for best results.

I just recently purchased a Seenda card reader. Incredibly good construction, very reasonably priced, and extremely fast file transfer (at least compared to the reader this one replaced).

Question along this line...I recently heard NOT to use the built in card reader on my laptop, but to use a stand alone USB reader. I was told there was a problem with the built in reader corrupting the cards. Anyone else hear this? I am having trouble believing this one. I have a brand new laptop and so far, no issue with the built in.

I've been using the built in SD card readers in my Macbook Pro and Mac Mini since ~2012 with absolutely no issues. Download speeds are quick enough that I've never wondered if there was anything wrong (I know, not very scientific, but . . . )

I have a D3200 and use a multi-card reader; IOGEAR from Newegg.com
I think I paid around $15.00 for it and love it too!

Thanks for your reply. I guess I’ll use it until I see a reason not to. I like the convenience of it being built in.

Almost any quality reader will do. I've use Transcend TS RDF8W for over 6 years. Flawless!

I would only use a card reader if your computer doesn't have an SD port. If it does, that's the best way to do it. The drivers that come with card readers may cause problems, or may not.

I haven’t seen corruption problems with using my computers’ sd card readers. But.... I “have” experienced driver crashing on all three, which are all Dells. Eventually, I decided to give up on the computers’ readers and use an separate plug in card reader and one of the USB 3 connections.

I've been using a Lexar Professional USB 3 duel-slot reader for a few years now and find it to be excellent. I shot 3 different Canon cameras with different type of cards....Rich
