Very good. A light jacket for us that would have pockets to fit the Hulk! LOL
I am 65 and could be in better shape, I have been to over 60 countries either by motor coach tour, river cruise or renting a car and I carry on a modified Optech usa harness 4 Nikon dslrs with battery grips using Nikon 16mm fisheye, tamron 15-30mm, nikon 24-120mm & tamron 100-400mm lens. I don't have time to change lenses and with the harness carrying 20+ lbs of gear and small backpack with anything else I need is not a problem yet. With these lenses traveling in Europe, Asia, South America, Africa etc allows me to get the photos I want whether in a Cathedral, cramped city street, landscape etc. The important thing is whatever works for you, there is no right or wrong.

What is it with weight? Unless you're physically impaired there's no reason to be always looking for lighter gear. Tired of carrying it around? Get in better shape. I'm 73 and in poor shape but have no problem carrying my D7000 and 18-200 zoom around when I go out and about. Shifting from one hand to the other isn't difficult. I like the inertia of the weight when I get it up to my eye to take a shot. Verticals are a bit problematic but I could solve that with more exercising and muscle tone. End of rant.

I hear ya.
If you can stay in good shape, you should.
Heavy is a relative term . . .
The last image is me, strolling on the beach, age 67.

There is no way anybody could hand hold a Sigma 200-500 F: 2.8. He is only getting fuzz balls

OK!
The lens alone in the second pic must have weighted 300 lbs.
