Saw an add for a Sigma 150-600 sport for $1349, new. Decided to check it out so I placed an order.

Then you find out its a bait and switch. If you want the complete lens with tripod mount and lens hood you have to pay full price. I cancelled and am a little relieved...I was having buyer's remorse anyway.

42nd Street Photo Shop has been known for quite a while to avoid. Abe's of Maine, mentioned also on this forum, in the past months, as negative. Is another one to avoid.

I'm surprised that as a long time member that you have not seen or sought information on the company before purchasing.

Bait and switch is illegal. has been for a while. However the way they are doing it may be a work around. I avoid doing business with these folks. Glad you were able to cancel...

Another rip off to add to the list.
I stick with B&H or Adorama and even then look and see what is included and compare it to the Canon web site as to what is included.
With PA charging sales tax now and that seemed to be the only difference in price which might start making local shops viable again.
Might be a good thing here.

I hate it too, Lonewolf456. Fortunately, it is relatively rare to find this on the UHH forum. I guess, one feels more comfortable and safe hiding (cowering) behind one's home computer. Too bad, but they still lurk among us.

Honest Abe's has been discussed here way too much. And, yes, they are anything BUT HONEST.
