Great Photography as always.
I was sitting here looking through the shots humming "Easy to be hard" looking at how much they have aged.
How have their voices held up?
Thanks for sharing Ed.

Nice pix, great band.

I was thinking about you today, wondering how goes the new setup. Any new developments? Have you considered the humidity. Last year I began to get some rust on my mount, and i’m I CA. I now run a dehumidifier in my portable observatory. No problems so far.

First - I put earplugs in when i go to these - I am in front of some wicked loud speakers ....so enjoying the music is not part of the deal. As a rule - bands allow for either 1, 2, or 3 songs to be photographed then they want to be left alone. So I do my songs and head for the office - I can hear the music from there and I wait until it is finished - then I return to photograph some candids at the "meet and greets".

About the humidity - I will get some rust if I don't address it.... but I intend to continuously manage that aspect and hope I can stay ahead of it.

Three cameras, Nikon D4 with a F/200-400 lens, Nikon D810 with F/2.8, Nikon D810 with F/2.8 70x200 - all cameras were set at 3200 ISO, 1/1000 of a second - wide open... depending on stage lights - they changed continuously throughout each song ...I shoot manual so I was dialing in exposure changes on the fly. But, I shoot all shots in RAW mode so making corrections in post to my exposure blunders is very forgiving.

This is funny - or it was to me. I got a call from a shows producer calling from Canton Ohio, they told me there were starting their tour in Spartanburg April 16th and was given my name as a photographer they might be able to hire for 8 hours one day and 4 the next. Actually my name was given to them by Spartanburg Municipal Auditorium. They said their group was PJ Mask. Well I had never heard of them...which is the case for most of the new groups...and Tuesday night was already scheduled for me - sporting event at a local high school. But before declining I wanted to see who the group was.... I told them I had a prior commitment that I would have to deal with and would get back in touch either way.

Here is the link - funny ... https://www.crowdpleaser.com/calendar/212/PJ+Mask+Live

Now here is the rest of the story - I have two grands that are 6 and 8 and they want to go....so I have arranged for another shooter to cover me Tuesday night and I will be taking pics the day before, candids, posed, dress rehearsal, and the performance the next night. I can't say I am excited about this but my grands are freaking out so that makes me happy!

Hahaha, wasn’t expecting that...I was a little confused about a 6 and 8 year old knowing a band.😂. Canton, Ohio, my hometown.

You really got a lot of angles and lighting for just a few songs.
I'm guessing that 258 and 259 were "Mama told me not to come" ?
I really enjoyed looking at them and I am very familiar with the noise factor when shoot up close.
I forgot my plugs the last time I shot a band and it took several days to get my hearing back to normal.
Well done again and good luck with this other shoot. Should be fun.

I took close to 600 pics in a 10 minute span...... I am constantly moving up and down the pit. The 200x400 lens is on a tripod behind the sound system (mixing boards) about 30 yards from the stage. I fire that camera remotely with pocket wizards.

Beautiful Star Shots Ed!
Beautiful results!

Through the wonders of the modern Internet, The meaning of Three Dog Night.
The meaning, however, is quite clear. The phrase is a rudimentary nightly temperature gauge. Dogs huddled with humans at night for the warmth. On really cold nights, three dogs were called into the bed to keep the owner from freezing to death.

Yep, none of us escape the grip of time...
But the music doesn't escape us.

Thanks Sonny and all of the hogs for the kind remarks. I didn't realize just how many hit songs (they said they had 20 number one songs in a row) they had. They looked like CADAVERS but they are alive and really kick'n it.

...and it is confirmed that "One is the loneliest number" and "Jeremiah was a bullfrog" just in case there was doubt.
