Anyone know if you can join a photo taking tour of Zion National Park? In Vegas for a convention but heading to Zion Thursday and Friday this week.

It is not specifically a photo trip, but try this:

I have used Viator to arrange day trips and airport pickups around the world and have never been disappointed.

To the best of my knowledge there aren't any photo tours in Zion National Park.

There are however a bunch of tours near the park, especially going east.

Keep in mind that most of the year you can't go into the main valley in Zion except for on one of their buses. The buses stop at regular intervals and let people on and off. If you don't like that experience both the Kolab canyon region and the east side of the park still allow private vehicles and have much smaller crowds.

There are several good hikes on the east side of the park that you will have nearly to yourself.

The bus can only take you so far, then the road ends, but there is a very nice walking trail with lots of nice photo opportunites.

No tours in Zion except maybe the horse back ride if you want to call it that. I live in St. George and never seen a tour. Much of the canyon is not accessible by car and you need to plan on hiking. That is where the real beauty is. The main canyon is closed from Easter to after Labor Day because of to many people, there is a bus shuttle that get you where you want to go. It getS too congested from all of the traffic, it is really a small canyon accessible wise. Kolob is another canyon which is about 50 miles away by automobile. Very pretty but smallish, CANYON WISE.

I’ve been to Snow Canyon where you live. It’s nice too.

My husband and I have been to Zion twice by RV and we just went to the visitor's center, took the bus that has about 7 different stops, which you can get off of and be picked up again every 30 minutes or so. The busses will continue up to the last stop where the Virgin River goes into the "Narrows". Great way to go up through the park and stop and take your time taking photos at each stop. We climbed to the top of Angels Landing and got some fantastic shots. The Narrow's is beautiful and the water is freezing. Once it was closed because of too much snow runoff. Have a blast!

From my wife:

Near Zion, look for an area called Kolob Canyon and Kolob Terrace. It is NW of the park.

I went on google maps and typed in Kolob, and had the option to pick Kolob Terrace Road in Virgin, UT. That could be the road with the view, I’m not sure. He said along the terrace road you could see people set up with their cameras looking into the canyon.

Go to this website and read 2. What are some good spots for photography? You see several answers, among them will be Kolob Canyon and Kolob Terrace Road.

Butch Cassidy was filmed in the little ghost town of Grafton, also near St. George and Ruth Cameron

Here’s an interesting article: http://www.locationshub.com/blog/2015/6/26/the-3-most-iconic-film-locations-in-utah

That’s about all I know.
A map will be your friend.

I’ve been to the Grand Canyon and I’ve been to Zion twice. I enjoyed Zion so much that I plan to go a third time! It’s fantastic! All the parks in Utah are exceptional!

I’ve been to Zion twice as well. This will be my third visit. Staying at the Majestic Hotel.

The drive from Moab to Zion is amazing.

Agree totally with above, I was there in September 2017 for the 3rd time. Stunning area. I also visited Kolob and it is definitely worth the ride if you have time.

Enjoy

Just reading these is giving me itchy feet, I feel like I need to come back.
You guys are so lucky living in the USA, my favourite country to visit by miles.

Don't know about a photo tour, per se, however, no cars are allowed in Zion but they have very frequent bus service back and forth on the park road that goes by most attractions. You can get off wherever you wish, take your photos, and get back on another bus. I never had to wait more than 5 or 10 minutes for one.
