A question about paper.
The big brown truck came by the other day and left me a new toy: PIXMA Pro-100. Yeah baby! I can see this printer will be most of what I need for the foreseeable future. I used some of the supplied paper, Canon's Luster 13x19...so much better than the Epson all in one!. I'll be printing occasionally with this printer, but I can see that I'll be going through paper, and ink too. What kind of wisdom does anyone out there have about paper available?
I like the Canon Luster paper included, but it is $50.00 +or-, for 50 sheets, while RedRiver has the same for $34.95. I am going to do a little research at DPreview, but I like talk with those who use it too.
THX!!! olc
If you like the Canon paper, look for the occasional "get free paper" deals on their website when you buy ink. I have 3 boxes of 13x19 pro luster but have never purchased that paper.

I now use Red River papers exclusively, and have been doing so for at least two years. Best of luck.

I use the Plus Glossy II, a bit more sharpness for the wildlife & outdoor stuff I print. I do not print a lot so an extra $0.25 to $ 0.50 a sheet does not bother me, especially compared to the cost of my equipment. Now you're talkin' real money!

Don't be afraid to try Red River, Hahnemuhle, Moab, Harman Galerie, and any inkjet PHOTO paper sold by an inkjet supply house.
Be careful with third party inks. There are many that will severely damage print heads. Check with *users* who have a long history of success with third party inks before ordering. And for heaven's sake, DON'T use the shop in the strip mall that refills office printer cartridges! Frankly, when I managed the digital departments of a pro portrait lab, we used OEM (Epson) inks with all our papers. Those printers ran flawlessly, 24/7, until my print team leader ordered some third party BS. ONE cartridge, and we had to replace the head. The Epson tech showed it to us. The third party ink reacted with the Epson ink to form what amounted to a hard plastic plug in the head assembly.
