Yes, that is the way it was when I was a kid... Had a dog, Spot. Big veggie garden to keep weed free. No TV, few radio programs, on our Bikes from morning til dark, no traffic. Kids brought their rifle to school shop class to re-blue and varnish the stock. Never a problem of much magnitude. Gone are those days.

With the exception of modern medicine, I miss those days.
