There was a couple of men that were headed to town on a buckboard. And in front was a mule who was acting like mules do sometimes. Who knows why? He was just being plain old stubborn and ornery. The mule refused to budge. The two men were sitting side by side on the buckboard and the older of the two hopped down and pickup a 2x4 and hit the mule right between the ears. He than climbed back up to his original position. And the younger of the two asked why did you do that? The response came, sometimes you have to get their attention first.

Man and his wife were Walking to town with the old mule packed up with furs for the market. The mule stopped in the middle of the path and refused to move. The husband looked at the mule and said that’s one, the mule still did not move, the husband said that’s two, the mule still did not move, the husband pulled his revolver and shot the mule dead. Wife says now what? Husband says pick up the pack and let’s go. Wife says I am not! You are the one who shot the mule, you pick it up. Husband says, that’s one.
