From a couple of hours before now, a few miles from home. This is something I almost never do: work on and post something I've only just shot. (Mainly, I just wanted to continue getting familiarized with my new Jeep, and though the 'road' didn't require 4WD, it was fun all the same.) The water is real enough, but its pumped up from a perennial stream in the canyon on the other side of the fins/spires; hence it's moniker, 'faux falls.' Been there a million times; I know the light will be better in May, when there'll be cactus blooming that'll provide nifty 'foreground/background' interest.

Faux or real, it's beautiful.
Very nice capture! The falls look natural, faux or no. What is the purpose of pumping the water?
great shot.
The jeep is great also sahara rides a little smoother than the sport. You will get a wave from most wrangler drivers.

Thanks, Carol. Water in the West is a very precious commodity. This water feeds a reservoir that's used for agriculture first, and recreation (fishing/boating/splashing around with the kids, etc.) second. The Colorado River is essentially the northern boundary of town, but its too silty to use for much except ag (and boating, of course). Most of our town drinking water comes from aquifers and wells fed by snow melt/rain from the nearby LaSal Mountains.
Nice photo and nice Jeep. Keep posting!
Cheers,
Don

I've noticed (about the wave). It was the same with my Cherokee, but the wave (actually, a raised index finger and a slight nod) mostly came from (and to) other owners of RED Cherokees. Around here, Jeeps (and 4WD vehicles in general) are as common as sand on a beach. The index finger on my left hand gets exhausted some days.

Gorgeous, and I am a Jeeper. Driving my sixth.
Have attended six ‘camp jeeps’, and still have the flags.
Sorry they stopped ‘camp jeeps’, they were a blast.

I like the Jeep and the photo!!
Very good, look a great place for pictures...
You are blessed with Nature's splendor. Utah has several of the most majestic national parks and I hope to visit a few of them someday now that I have the time to travel in the RV.
