Hi!

I'm looking at purchasing a D850 from Jet Cameras. Do any of you know anything about Jet Cameras? Has anyone purchased from them? What's your experience with them?

Thanks!

Yes. The camera is $200 less on JetCamera than all the other sites. I've purchased from B&H previously and am unfamiliar with JetCamera.

Thanks

If you decide to deal with them you will have to get VERY familiar with them trying to get your money refunded, which will NOT happen!

I don’t understand why this question keeps coming up. The choice of Hoggers who have expressed an opinion have repeatedly id’ed KEH, Adorama, B&H, Johnson, and a couple others. Advice: stick with the winners!

Any time you see a price significantly lower than B&H, Adorama, or other well known legitimate sites, it is either grey market or a scam of some kind.

Bad place to do business -
GOOGLE is your friend: jet camera reviews

And the BBB: Jet Camera Reviews & Complaints - page looks blank on opening - click on the "View Customer Complaints" link

Anybody who is naive enough to give these shysters their credit card deserves what is about to happen to them. Can I interest you in purchasing the Brooklyn Bridge? Only slightly used.

Be very careful. I just went through a lot of brain damage to buy a Nikon D850. They are selling like hotcakes and lots of folks are selling them on eBay for $1000-$2000 over the typical $3296 price.

I ordered it from Adorama, only to find out two day later that they didn't actually have a camera. Ditto for Amazon, although they say so on their website. Again, lots of "like new" still in box D850s on Amazon at a big mark-up. Then I ordered one from B&H last week because there website said they had them in stock, only to get a call today telling me that they only have the international version. I finally resorted to BestBuy. They said I'd have it tomorrow.

Anyway, it's a hot item. Last time I looked it was back ordered on the Nikon website, so no telling when they will be readily available from the usual suspects. And forget trying to find a used or refurbished one, from what I can tell, that beast doesn't exist anywhere on the planet.

Roberts in Indianapolis, B&H, Adorama, are probably your safest places to buy. They all treat their customers right, do a good job with returns, and ship quickly when they have the gear in stock. it has already been said that B&H and Adorama are out of stock, well so is Roberts, but put your name on Roberts wait list... they dont make you pay before you order, so if you find one elsewhere, you can cancel with Roberts and not loose your money.

Is that with or without a US warranty? Is the camera gray market? Is the $200 worth the risk and potential headaches? Clearly most here on the hog have already decided it is not.
