Lovely shots indeed!

I recently moved to Guam for my newest duty station. It's similar to Hawaii in some ways, but definitely has it's own culture and feel. There is quite a bit of history here, from the Japanese and Americans in WWII, the Spanish from the mid 1500s through 1898, to the ancient Chamorro (the original inhabitants of Guam). Here is a sunset from a bridge the Spanish built as part of an incomplete road that was supposed to run from their main seaport of Umatac in Southern Guam, to their capital, Hagåtña, in central Guam. The second picture was taken just on the other side of the bridge. I'll try to post a few more pictures I've taken since moving here over the next few days. I edited these a little in Lightroom, with my limited knowledge and ability. Please feel free to comment on what I could do better, either in Lightroom, or with the picture in general.

Nice images. I lived on Guam for two years. It's been so long I can't remember the name of the village I lived in, but the beach was my back yard. The village was just past the USO building, if it's still there. I worked as a phojo at the Naval Station and later at COMNAVMAR.

Amazing photos! I know a Navy guy stationed in Guam. You might run across him, his name is James Boucher. Again, love the shots!

Is that bridge straight across (it appears to be angled or curved) or is that an optical illusion based on your position. The horizon looks level to me, it's just that the left arch is a bit lower and more sloped down to the road.

Outstanding captures.

The bridge is not quite level after a few hundred years. But I do also have a habit of sloping my horizons. So maybe a little bit of both.

I agree. Stunning. I like them the way they are. If you lighten the shadows it kinda takes away from the ambiance of the sunset scene. Definite calendar material.
