Canon 80D raw file size

This camera offers three sizes of raw files: 24M, 14M and 6M. However, the downloaded sizes are 31M, 24M and 17M. Might the camera sizes be compressed? Any ideas?

Not sure but my drone does the same thing...22MB jpeg but DNG or RAW file imports as 34 MB.

Are you talking about numer of pixels or computer file size (bytes)?

That is is, Richard. The camera says "6M 3000x2000". Looks like pixels to me. The computer is bytes.

The Canon manual should give you a listing of all the file options and the average size of each. And RAW files often are slightly larger than what you might expect.

Well, by the third person someone noticed! That's 24MP, 14MP, 6MP; compared to 31MB, 24MB, 17MB. Apples and Oranges. MegaPixels vs MegaBytes, get it?
