Hello again :-)

I would like to know how to shot against the sun and avoid those sun rays.

Do I need a lens hood?
Do I need a filter?

Thanks

Nothing will completely eliminate them so long as you are shooting into the sun itself. Try different positioning, or try shooting when the humidity is very low and warmer to have less suspended ice particles in the air.
You cannot change the climate, you just have to learn how to shoot in it.

Good idea, thank you! :-D

About the weather, it was -18 Celsius, maybe it was not a good day for outside photography

No, the ice particles suspended in the air act as tiny prisms and cause the effect you got to be worse.

I see no one in our warmer climates has responded, probably because they don't have to contend with this phenomenon.

A polarizing filter might help if the effect is caused by ice crystals in the air. I personally like it.

I agree with MT Shooter . Take your photo , like at it in the camera after taken , if you see sun flare , try moving left or right , tilting the camera some , up or down some if the ground allows it . Take more photos , looking after each one until you achieve the results your after . Hope this helps .Tommy

I have not seen that phenomenon in Ca. or in Southern Oregon. Interesting . I once was on top of Mt. Shasta with the sun shining through the early morning cloud and frozen ice crystals filled the air with all colors sparkling & glittering & dancing through the atmosphere. I could feel them as I breathed them in, it was literally like walking inside a rainbow! You should have seen 3 grown men acting like kids in amazement at the beauty surrounding us! Millions of ever changing sparkling crystals, incredible. I felt that it was a small foretaste of heaven. Thanks for the reminder of a great memory.
