Emory Pass overlook (with a caution note)

(Near the hamlet of Kingston NM)

This pano was created from 3 35mm negatives. One of the reasons for showing this is to illustrate how a polarizer should not be used for multiple images when planning to merge them. Back when the pictures were taken (Feb 1989) I had never consider that they could be merged into one. Rather they were mounted end to end so in that situation, the polarizer wasn't a problem. If you look at the sky you can see a vertical band about the middle of the pano. I have been able to reduce that to a certain extent but lack the skill (and the visual acuity) to clean it up entirely.
3 horizontal shots. I can't remember the lens but more than likely a 35mm as that was my 'walk around' lens of choice

I too have experienced that difficulty, but, I cannot remember if I had used a polarizer... Anytime you are merging multiple images together with lots of blue sky you risk changes in the exposure. We all know about the northern light.
