Have I improved?

I took the constructive criticism and advice of fellow Hoggers the past couple of weeks. This will probably be the last set, as I don't wish to bore anyone. This set was done using a D7100 and 85mm Nikon, with a recommended aperature of f2.8, 1/800, auto white balance and auto iso. Thanks for your help.

Very good - look right to me, and your settings are about what I’d be using. I think I can guess who you’re focusing on 🤫. (Child or grandchild?)

Hi. Nice improvement. You are a quick study

One opportunity for improvement. You have done a better job of keeping the verticals straight up in the first two, but last few could use a bit if clockwise rotation. Stops the players from running up or down hill, so to speak. I suggest making a duplicate, try the rotation, and see if you think it looks better to your eye.

Good job

First of all post all the photos you want for suggestions and comments. We or I don't get bored seeing them. We all want some help in this hobby of ours.
In my opinion the second shot is your best shot. It shows your grand child's face. The last shot is good too. Always try for the faces and the ball in the shots. You did a great job.

As a professional who shoots lots and lots of sports action, and a member here, I would concur. A face and a ball is a must have for a really good shot, and in sharp focus of course. I recently listened to a sports guy at a Nikon event and he made the point that TWO faces and a ball is even better, and I agree wholeheartedly. Naturally, in the heat of a game, you can not be everywhere so some side shots often do work, particularly if there's a good expression. Position yourself and wait for a shot to come to you. Often it can be a 'shoot thru' a crowd, but good cropping can make the shot. Best of luck.
