Let's see... There's a mix of three different formats there, so you can't be referring to sensor size...

I'm not referring to output or MP or pixel pitch or anything.

Menus and ergonomics do differ wildly from brand to brand and quite a bit within each brand. Most folks go with what they are the most used to, like Macs vs PCs, Fords vs Chevys, or Lexus vs BMW... Hence, the admonition to try before you buy. The tools that seem absolutely intuitive to one person can seem completely confusing to another. What feels good in the hand varies with hand shape, size, muscle tone, and more.

And that is true too. Once I learned the E-M5 menu, it made sense to me. Now that I am learning the E-M1 mrII menu, most of it still makes sense to me as to how they laid it out. Of course, my wife has always said that my thinking was a little "different"!

I have driven Japanese cars most of my life. In 2005, I started traveling a lot for my job, and rented American cars quite frequently due to the corporate rates we had through the rental companies. It took me forever to find the windshield wipers, know which way to flip the stalk or the switch, etc. Most of the controls do the same things, but they're often in different places and move in a different direction. It took some getting used to.

My kids inherited my late father's 2001 Oldsmobile. I drive it occasionally to get it serviced. It is always a pain in the butt to find the controls, because I'm so used to my Prius.

Cameras are like that. When I was at Herff Jones, we used mostly Canons, but I had a Nikon that I used for training documentation. Going back and forth always took some thought.
