Interesting. It must be some sort of configuration in your account. I’m on Amazon nearly every day and have never seen a link to TRADE IN NOW. I just searched for the lens in question and looked at the page on which it is listed. There is no link for that function that I can find. I’m perplexed.

I hadn't heard of this before either, but looking at a lens page (it seems to have to have prime) I can see a 'Have one to sell?' with a 'Sell on Amazon' button to the right of it, under where you add an item to your basket.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons why I gave up the Vettes and went with a BMW.

So, you trying to start a war here? Just to help it along, given a choice between a BMW and a horse cart, I take the cart every time.

I take this to mean you have never driven or owned a BMW.

Have driven. Known several owners that weren't too happy. I prefer a good hot Volvo myself.

I sold some equipment to Adorama. The experience was very good. I expect KEH and B&H would be fair. Just remember they need to make a bit of money. e-bay and paypal take quite a bit.

I find KEH for buying and selling to be the best. Have had experience with both. B&H and Adorama are OK BUT buying and selling good used equipment is KEH's business and they do great at it. Did not realize Amazon bought used gear.

I had a camera that I tried to sell to them. I was returned stating the flash would not fire. The reason it wouldn't fire is that it was turned off on the menu. One would think a person inspecting cameras would see this. Yes I should have reset the camera. I think the person inspecting wasn't very knowledgable.

the evaluation personnel at Amazon are not knowledgeable at all they just follow a flow chart as the test. They are not technicians in any way the are warehouse workers that applied and got the position.
You may wonder how i am so certain of this, well its because i worked as an Amazon associate for a few years.

First of all let me say, for 10 years or so, I have used Amazon, and loved everything about doing business with them, EXCEPT on this one deal. I went to sell them a totally perfect Nikon 85mm micro DX, VR lens. I sent them a perfect lens with all the accessories and original box and papers. You could not tell from brand new. They sent it back saying it had light scratches and dust. I called them and they said someone must have made a mistake to resend it back to them. I did. Today I get it back saying it had hard usage. I looked at this lens with a microscope and could not find a single scratch anywhere or anything other than a brand new looking lens. I even checked the glass and found nothing. Am wondering if anyone else ever had a similar problem or any comments. They did give me a $50 credit for my troubles. It also cost them the freight four times. They were supposed to pay me first $296 the first time and $306 the second time. I could get that on Ebay! What do you think is going on? Thanks Bob

I had the exact thing happen to me with a Canon lens. The lens was 2 months old, I couldn't sell it on Craigslist,so I sent to Amazon expecting the maximum amount for it. They credited me with a lesser amount because I had microscopic scratches. Its part of their standard operation I also sold them a camera which was a year old and they did give me the maximum amount for it. No more lenses for Amazon!

Now that is what I thought of but failed to mention. I think most of us on this site are true fotoggers and are honest. At least I hope we are.

Sorry, can’t find any such thing on Amazon. Once again, are you SURE you don’t mean Adorama?
