While you're patiently waiting for Trump's answer, please allow me to offer mine, which is based on HISTORY, NOT on raced-based bias, as your is.
Most all of our early immigrants chose to leave their European homelands because they had little or no chance to improve their lives because of the
existing conditions in their home countries. They chose to obey the existing i*********n l*ws of the USA in order to improve their lots in life, apart from
staying in the miserable " dung-countries ". They came to this country openly and legally...endured the less-than-pleasant conditions of Ellis Island,
obeyed the numerous immigration and citizenship laws, and LEGALLY started life in their new Country of beginning again.
Once here, they chose to learn, and USE the language of their new adopted country, and made honest efforts to become AMERICANS, both in word and deed.
When they encountered the equivilent of movements such as "RECONQUISTA", the idea of changing this nation back into something that resembled their
former "dung" homelands, they declined changing the USA, and chose to legally WORK at improving their lives as AMERICANS...whose elected representatives
had not, at that time, yet discovered that v**es could be bought by taking money from hard-working American taxpayers to give to immigrants who gladly
accepted free money in exchange for their v**es.
I am reasonably sure that my thoughts will fall on your deaf ears, as you are most likely a Democrat at heart who is feeding at the Government trough
while doing nothing in return for this once great nation.

I really don.t think that that "Golden Door" referred to:
The Rio Grande River.
Empty stretches of Desert in California, Arizona, New Mexico, etc.
That "lamp" she holds aloft is probably an unwelcome light source for wetbacks and other i******s crossing the US/ Mexico border.

Before our U.S. Democrats started adopting and financially supporting I******s, entry into this once-great
Nation was done by Legal means.
Speaking of, "The Wretched refuse of your teeming shore..." Is this a somewhat nicer euphemism for what Trump may have called " S---hole countries"?
Have a nice day.

Actually, in the early days, there was no such thing as legal or illegal, immigrants walked off the boat and into the country.

“Speaking of, "The Wretched refuse of your teeming shore..." Is this a somewhat nicer euphemism for what Trump may have called " S---hole countries"?”

Probably so. Notice that Liberty saw people as dignified, constructive, and positive additions to the nation, while Trump, and by extension you, see them in the worst possible light, in an ugly frame of reference, dirty, lazy, diseased and criminal, when all they want is a chance to work.

You carry in your mind a picture of welfare c***ts—a vague, anonymous and irresponsible charge—people with dark skin, speaking a funny language, when most welfare recipients are white, English speaking, and native, and probably most welfare c***ts come from that same population.

But it’s so easy to h**e those you don’t know rather than the friends and neighbors of your own ethnicity and background.

Reading your response, it's awful easy to analyze what all is wrong with your thinking:
You say," In the early days, there was no such thing as I*****l I*********n." Are you thinking that all those early people just imagined Ellis Island.
You are obviously so busy reading other peoples minds that you are led to believe things that are not true.
I've never said that I h**e anyone...just that there are rules that should pertain to everyone...not just to potential Democrat v**ers.

Get well soon.

Well, I h**e to point it out to your ignorant ass, but there was immigration before Ellis Island.

Memorize this:

Ellis Island, in Upper New York Bay, was the gateway for over 12 million immigrants to the U.S. as the United States' busiest immigrant inspection station for over 60 years[8] from 1892 until 1954. Ellis Island was opened January 1, 1892. The island was greatly expanded with land reclamation between 1892 and 1934. Before that, the much smaller original island was the site of Fort Gibson and later a naval magazine. The island was made part of the Statue of Liberty National Monument in 1965 and has hosted a museum of immigration since 1990.

I agree with the Trumpster. We must tighten our borders. There are too many coming in that want to destroy us from within.

Trump is doing that all by himself.

Thank you, but it was pretty stupid remark on your part, wasn’t it?
