I used the hubble palette to map Ha, Sii, and Oiii taking 70 pictures each 5 minutes in exposure of each emission line for a total of 210 NB images. For the star color I then added 90, 30 second exposures of the R, G, and B channel - over 18 hours of total exposure was taken over a 3 night period in very cold weather....well cold for me - now it would probably be swimming weather for bwana and a few other yankees :)

Nice Ed, it takes a lot of exposure time, but these are cool. I saw a video on processing. If you are interested, check it https://youtu.be/RZZ4UlIQk0s. He has some tricks for handling the stars too.

Lots of hard work and dedication to get this done. Beautiful Ed.

Ed, you just keep killing me with your captures and processing skills.
Beautiful shot.

Thanks guys for the support. I got giddy when I first started taking these images as the data was so good coming in. I am sooooo fortunate to have my new backyard - it is over one stop darker and I have 360° views starting at 25 degrees.

Clouds and rain have given me some time to play around with other color mapping schemes. This is HaOiiiOiii *HOO. The more I look at this image ...and look at images taken by others, the more I realize that I failed to get a lot of the nebulosity in the surrounding areas. I think I got the data - just not real clever on how to pull it out while leaving the noise. Also, I am using very low cost ZWO filters and that may have something to do with it. (when in doubt blame the equipment) ...I have ordered filters by Astronomik, Ha, Oiii, Sii, and LRGB in the 6nm emission line - the Astrodon filters, though nice, would have required me to mortgage my house.

Again Ed, beautiful job. Short of having a space bound scope you have pulled up a lot of details. There are more details in there that want to peek out.

Absolutely gorgeous, Ed!
I really like your second image.

But "HaOiiiOiii *HOO" sounds like a war chant.

Hah! Oye Oye Hoo-O!!

(Oh come on now. Since when did anybody expect me to be serious?)

Narrowband imaging (and processing) is a hoot!
