Point of View Statue on Mt. Washington above Pittsburgh
The James West bronze statue of George Washington and Seneca Indian Leader Guyasuta that sits on Mt. Washington, overlooking a frosty New Years Day 2018 Pittsburgh Point. The statue depicts a meeting when Washington was surveying for a westward expansion of white settlements that were in violation of a treaty that had been signed and fiercely opposed by the Indian tribes. According to Washington's journals, "we agreed to part as friends".
Great photo! Mahalo for telling the story explaining the statue. Never heard this story of GW.
