Taken while walking to the Sprint Center in downtown, K.C., MO.
The trolley from Union Station to across town is free!

Very colorful scenes amidst this cold, dark season. Thanks for a bit of cheerfulness!

Yes. The trolley in the last image was free: we boarded at Union Station and got off up town and walked to the Sprint Center.

I grew up with trolleys and your last image does not look anything like what we had back then. Oh well, someday there will be no one left alive that had seen a trolley of yesteryear. Of course by then your trolley of today will be, what, an antique. Then what.

I was visiting KC for a week. I come from the Boston area where trolleys are always crowded, expensive, old, and off schedule. This trolley in KC was clean, on time, and free. As a kid, I took the “street car” to get to high school. There are trolley museums in a number of northeast states so their memories won’t be lost.
