We all use a specific software (goto) when we create a panorama.

Please can you reveal which one you use, why you like it and if you would recommend it.

Depending on your input, I might ask you to write a further review that will be posted as a 'sticky closed' thread on panoramic software. You do not need to be a good writer, I have 'in house' editor... My wife.

Note that I intend to do the same thing on workflow and whatever is needed in order to offer a comprehensive dynamic resource of information written by those who create panoramas - for any reason -.

Thank you.

Lightroom. Reasonably fast, works well with RAWs, don't need trip, fits into workflow with other images, easy to make prints, all the normal adjustment tools are there. It has it all and is simply too easy.

Lightroom for reasons given above. Used ICE until I started doing HDR panoramas, then switched to Lightroom as everything is right there in one program. Also either Lightrooms stitching has gotten better or my inputs have.

Likely you. While the programs are getting better the input is the most important part. If you see a difference, do not blame the software blame yourself for growing!!!

Walked into an ancient church in Copenhagen. Stunned, shocked and photographically confused. No tripod allowed, too many tourists. 6 panoramic groups of 5 bracketed "HDR" exposures. 30 total, all hand held with a M4/3 compact. Lightroom! Process each HDR, then merge the pano. Finally, Photoshop to remove several unwanted tourists.

What sort of instructions or tutorial do you want?

I've got some new software that could make video tutorials of the screen in action. However, it would be my first attempt at that!

"Depending on your input, I might ask you to write a further review...."

I offer what you say you want! Or not.... Either way, I am not offended.

Uh?

The tutorial you may want to make can be about anything. Gene, Bob and I will help refine it with your input then you will publish it* and I will list it in separate sticky thread that will refer to it regardless of time line. That way nothing of importance is lost as it is too many times in other sections.

I like that you left the couple at the back.

I use PTGUI.
Only one I could find when I started making panoramas about 10 or so years ago. It will deal with just about any configuration you may want, including 360/180's. It will make Little Worlds as well as deal with multiple rows and columns. It will convert raw images as well as deal with bracketed images. It has a world wide following and a Google support forum. You can size output for the web, JPEG or TIFF.

A friend of mine and I wrote the software I use and have used since 2001 or 2. We originally wrote it to work with scanned black and white negatives, or scanned color slides. When I started using digital, it proved to work with the same efficiency. I've not found any programs that work better. Some come close, but I'll continue to use the home brewed program.

And since it is not available commercially... I asked you about it a long time ago, I do not see how we can benefit from your programming skills.

You should check with your friend to see if he would agree to offer it as shareware or under a GNU license...

Rong....,
He and I discussed that. The major issue we both had was technical support. Releasing software for the general public to use without providing some support would not be quite right. Neither one of us has the time to do tech support for that large an audience. Additionally, we "borrowed" some code to work a very small portion of the program. Due to that, it's probably best we don't publish or make available for the general public.

We wrote the majority of the program. It's just one small part that we spliced in to our code that causes us concern.
