Love shooting weddings when one or both are in the military .....

They meant 4 years ago in high school. He was the football star and she was .... of course .... a cheerleader.

Oh .... and only one assistant :)

I always like the wedding pictures that you take and post. When I was doing weddings, I would tell the groom or any one else in the picture that I did not want to see fingers growing out of the other person's side or shoulder. This is NOT meant as criticism, merely stating what I did.

The only big thing I see is the crooked tie.

Gosh, you have good eyesight! A blind man would be glad to see that.

I am not a pro by any means and I have never shot a wedding but these are my opinions and please feel free to correct if I am wrong as I am still learning myself
I believe I would have used a wider aperture in the first post to allow the background to blurr. The second post is a nice idea but really busy and for some reason my attention is drawn away from the couple and to the hanging red stockings. The third seems to have the lens flare from the lighting that gets my attention but of the three is still my favorite chosen scene. Like i said these are just my opinion and im in no way a pro nor have i ever shot a wedding.

Personal preference. With people that are religious, they want to have the symbol of their faith clearly shown in some photos to represent that it is as a central point in their relationship together.

Personally, I wouldn't want the crucifix "blurred out" Again, it's a personal choice of the couple, and of Jerry's vision of the shot.

Not picking on you at all, because we all do have our reasons for envisioning the day as we do.

Fine comments so far. I just want to comment on the last shot which seems to have no flash. I really like the casual feel between the bride and groom (and bet they do, too.) But the bright lights are a distraction. They lend interest to the composition, but they are too bright. I'll PM you a possible change, using cropping and luminosity masking.

This is the first forum with real professionals who do no go crazy if you talk about hands sticking out .
Nice to see the groom on the correct side too.
Clearly this is only very few of many but what I see is good
