Ohio State or Alabama?

The question of whether Ohio State or Alabama should be the fourth team in the college football playoff has already led to calls to expansion to an eight team playoff. Actually, the four team playoff system assures that the best two teams in the country are in the playoff. If polls were to select the top two teams only, there could always be an argument that the third team was better than the second team. So....how do you fix potential controversies between #2 and #3 teams? A four team playoff. That way, you know that the best two teams are in the playoff. The fourth team is inconsequential. So, if there is a controversy about who should be in the fourth spot for the playoff, it doesn't really matter, because we know that we have the best two teams in the playoff, and that's what's important. If there were an 8 team playoff there would eventually be a controversy for that 8th spot, and on it would go ad infinitum.

So...What about first year there was a playoff? Lots thought Ohio State didn't belong in playoffs....Yet....As number 4 seed....Won it all!

That’s because Alabama didn’t play any good teams & Ohio State did with two losses,one to Oklahoma & one to Iowa.All we can do is wait & see what they decide!

Joined the UHHog for great photography interaction. Debates about football, politics, etc. is really a “downer.” Great photos of games is one thing...but this is DEPRESSING.

I would like to see OSU in but I think Alabama is the better team.

I am sure, but it is part of the Hedgehog Photography Forum link that says nothing about “general chit-chat.” Opened the link looking for photos of what may have been defining moments and not back and forth favorite team slang.

Three Committee Members had to remove themselves from voting because they have ties to some of the colleges that are in the competition. The Big Ten Conference has clout just as the SEC has.. Two powerhouse teams. However, I personally believe that Ohio State will get in, because a SEC team is already in the top 4. Georgia. This is my guess? Talk about splitting hairs. This is it. You'll have 4 different Conferences in the Tournament.

Alabama is in the Playoffs as the #4 Seed. They will face Clemson, seeded #1. Ohio State is out. Most likely they will play USC in the Rose Bowl on New Years Day. Congrats to Alabama.
