Exported Panorama Sizing for UHH

I export out of Lightroom, and usually resize JPEGs to 3000 pixels on the long edge. Is there a setting that works better for panos posted here?

Not that I know of. Personally I post in PNG and use the size in MB vs pixels. Maximal size is about 20MB but I have posted a couple that were 23MB. I am not sure why UHH allowed for that.

Here's a test of an 8906x1650--I've no idea what will happen.

Apparently posting from Flickr makes the "(store original)" function disabled. I chose the Flickr "Share" size of "Original" which was 8906x1650--how one can display that I have no idea (I don't know how to do it in Flickr, either).

Nothing. This is an image linked to an outside source, not an upload.

Be careful when doing this as if the linked file passes UHH limits (1024 width) it might be deleted because it disturbs the site page layout.

You have ghosting in there by the way. It is especially visible around the couple in the foreground.

Yes, I know about the ghosting. It's very hard to avoid when there are people in the view (they move). I was not posting based on quality, but to determine what would happen with its size. Apparently in this case the size was adjusted by UHH to be 943x175. Flickr gives me a Share size option of 1024x190 as the next smaller size from Original. I'm attaching that version now

Didn't make a difference. I guess to be able to store full size I would have to first download from Flickr and then upload to UHH from my computer. That's too much work (the post-processed photos are only on Flickr because I use Lightroom) so I guess UHH folks will have to be satisfied with sharing from Flickr.

To deal with folks moving...

Best bet is to copy paste the couple from a separate layer so that it covers the ghosted area.

There is another trick, if you use PS CC too is to use calculation to remove the moving objects. I will have to find a reference and tutorial for that.

Just to see if it works, I have downloaded in original size (9460x2698) another panorama and am uploading it here.

OK, that process does appear to work. The full size is available from the Download. That particular panorama was stitched (using Autostitch) from 12 images in portrait mode using a Nikon D7000 and 18-200VR lens at 18mm, post-processed with Lightroom, mainly for cropping the ragged edges.

This image is 6500 on the long size, cropped a bit from a HH 8 vertical image 85mm, F8, 1/250, 800 ISO. The original is 15K+ on the long side and a gazillion MB. This was part of my experimenting with stitching and the beginning of a love affair with the 85mm for panos)

4MB, apparently. (As it happens, I do have that post-processed photo on file in my computer--I guess I post-processed (to crop) using JASC Paint Shop Pro, not Lightroom; PSP did not have direct upload to Flickr available.) I quit using PSP several years ago in favor of LR because PSP was removing my GPS data with no option to turn that "feature" off. Not long after the switch to LR I started directly uploading from LR to Flickr and stopped putting post-processed versions back on my hard drive.
