So let us help them out. And many do try to help them out but here are some not so helpful ideas that should be avoided. https://www.thespruce.com/worst-things-in-your-yard-for-birds-4146969?utm_campaign=gardening&utm_medium=email&utm_source=cn_nl&utm_content=11334165&utm_term=

Some of those are much ado about nothing. As if those same things don't exist in various forms in nature.
But some are helpful things to keep in mind.

Thanks, I didnt know I had to do a birdbath cleanup. All I’ve done in the past is pick out the debris.

About 40 years ago, we had a cat that we let go outdoors. I saw this cat one day sneak up and catch a robin on the concrete driveway. Never let it out again.

Cats by some are considered the greatest predator. They will even kill if they are hungry or not.

UHH member papa posted a series of pictures of his cat tormenting a bird before the cat killed it. Of course the cat didn't eat the bird, it just wanted to kill it for the sake of killing. That's what cats do. Papa thought it was a great series but a lot of others didn't appreciate it as much as he did.
My problem with cats that are allowed to roam free is that they come into my yard thinking it is their personal latrine. On Black Friday I found a live animal trap on sale. I plan on setting it out at night when the dumb ass cats come around, trap them then take them to the animal control people and let the owners go there to retrieve them. If they still come around I might take them out into the dessert, which isn't too far away, release them there and let them find their way back.

And thus emulate the cats cruelty. There are effective animal repellents.
