If you are feeding the deer, I am going to fuss at you. Where I live plenty of people feed deer, resulting in way too many deer in town, crossing highways to get to food sources and being hit by cars. Neighbors who do not put food out for the deer complain, rightly, that deer ruin their yards, trees, shrubs, gardens, etc. because they've been lured in by someone else's offerings. The powers that be have even taken to shooting them. What gripes me even more is that now we have a mountain lion "problem"--lions are coming into town because of all the easy prey, and because they don't know to stay away from places like school playgrounds, our lions are being shot by officials. I like deer, and I like mountain lions. On my cameras out in the forest I get both, and they are quietly doing their own thing and eating plenty without human help.

Good point. I thought about that too. Where I live I don't have the problems of pray animals except coyotes....and as for the trees and shrubs....just have big evergreen trees and no shrubs. I live on a country road by a forest and theirs no highway around for them anyway. I can see the problem why it happens and how....but, folks should think that every action is a opposite reaction and it force's change...good or bad. Thanks for the tip! δ¿δ

Well your situation is different than the way things are here, and I'd be tempted to put apples out for the deer too. Sorry for my tirade but people can be so ridiculous. One lady I know, who complained of her neighbors' feeding of the deer leading to the ruination of her yard, told me about bringing in a load of firewood only to be surprised by a cougar in her yard; her rat terrier treed it but was subsequently stomped to death by deer. Separately, folks in a small town a few miles away thought they needed to feed a mountain lion that was in the vicinity. That lion ended up killing and partially eating a mentally ill man who had taken to bathing (while talking loudly and singing, I believe) in a creek. So of course that lion also became a casualty.
