A few more photos....

The first one has a pattern of dots (but hardly any moire) and the other three do not.

They are all reduced in size and none of them has any EXIF information or even their original file name so we can't even tell when they were taken - whether they were from the first 20 or not.

If you can't get the original files from your recycle bin you will not get any closer to an answer.

Okay, I've heard if you have to eat crow, it's a dish best served hot, so . . . .

I'll take mine now please.

If you look at the lines in a net, they usually tend to run in a slight zigzag, this is what I thought I could see in the first image. However, after trying to enhance and sharpen the lines to validate my theory, what I thought I was seeing is just not there. Therefore I'll have to concede, I now believe it is most likely moiré we're seeing in both images, and that it most likely appeared during post processing. Why it would have only occurred in the first several images is a mystery to me.

I would ask that you all please forgive me for defending my position. I try to be correct in my logic all the time, but sometimes I'm wrong.

My conclusion - as I mentioned along with two supporting web links on page 6 of this thread - is that post processing is the likely culprit. Not reflections, not gear.

I hope so that it was pilot error and nothing mechanical. I'm shooting a kids tournament next week at a different location, with out the filter and see what the pics look like. I'll keep you guys posted and thanks for all the input. Seems as if you had a few different thoughts on the subject, thanks again HOGS.

I bet that if you stay below ISO 6400 you will be OK, with or without the filter.

Shooting with the same camera 7D MKII and a Canon 70-200mm f/2.8 lens these photos were taken at the same game. Shooting info ISO 6400 70mm & 200mm, f/3.5, 1/800sec. Seems as if it is present when I first start shooting, could it be the cold effecting the camera from when I first start shooting? Don't have the RAW anymore, I dump them after I post the photos. I am not shooting through the glass, shooting from the bench.

Any and all help will be appreciated and thanking all members in advance for your time, effort and knowledge.
Shooting with the same camera 7D MKII and a Canon ... (show quote)

In the first photo, your metering mode is listed as Metering Mode {0x9207} = pattern / multi-segment (5) in the exif data.
the third photo, metering is listed as Metering Mode {0x9207} = spot (3) in the exif data.

Not sure if that would/could cause the lines, just a difference in the two photos I saw in the exif.
