Has anyone canceled their Nikon D850 order due to long wait to purchase the Sony A7Rlll? Read some where this is happening.

When I had to wait three months to find a Honda Fit in 2014, I was tempted to look for another brand or model. But then I realized that I would be stuck with something that was my second choice for the life of the car. Decide what you want, and then find it or wait for it. I heard that the D850 is shipping now.

One would think that anyone who ordered the 850 would already own suitable Nikon lenses.
Maybe not.

So true. I’m not ready for either but I hear you. The other day I took my iPhone 6 to the Apple store to have the speaker fuxed (3rd time). Lady said three generation phone and tried to talk me into upgrading to iPhone 8. Says I’d rather have the new iPhone X. She said that one you will wait until March. I just know if I bought the 8 I’d be wishing I had the X. Went to AT&T and pre-ordered the X. Shorter wait. AT&T said four weeks. So I’ll wait.

Amazing how many itens are on back order these days.

True and I prefer Nikon but my wife uses a Sony a6000. The other day for fun I put a few of my Nikon lenses on the a6000 using a cheap adaptor I own. The 200-500 is just plan silly but it worked. Focus was a bit of a challenge.

This is a repeat of another thread under a different name.

It may look funny, but it's nice that folks who want to transition don't have to jump in with both feet.

I'll use my D500 with the 200-500 lens and going out with my son now to Orlando Wetland to grab some shots but you are right. It is nice that you can use Nikon/Canon even Pentex witht he Sony Alpha cameras. Adaptors are not expensive unless you want autofocus...

Always new you were a smart guy Jerry!!! I love my Honda Fit. It never ceases to amaze me what I fit into that car. The 360 degree visibility is the best I seen.

I was thinking the same thing. Not unless he was thinking adapters?

The Sony is very interesting but until there are full reviews it would be foolish to jump ship. Besides if one had a full compliment of lenses for Nikon they would take a financial bath restocking the Sony, even if were possible.

You could use an adapter...
