If I had not chopped the top of these trees off, or not included the burn out would this have been a better photo. I am debating (with myself) if this one is worth printing. Opinions.

The burnout is a distraction. If you have the time you could clone it out in Lightroom or Elements.

Well, I don't like the color of the sky (too green) nor do I like the burnout. Yes, it might have looked better with a little more room to see down the road a little more and perhaps a little more of the tree tops.

How about turning it into a panorama. Cropped on my iPad but it gives the idea. Also, I’d get rid of the lower-center white object.

I think more trees are better. I see them as your main subject. With all the oranges and gold in the trees, I would use HSL to deepen the blue in the sky.

A very pretty shot, Bob. No treetops isn't a problem, at least for me. I do think it looks better without the burnout, as that tends to pull the eyes away from the colorful trees.

nope. Without the road it's just leaves and branches. Nothing of interest.
