Tilde, I guess you spoke to soon......seems Admin did not like the post on Proper Training as it seems to have been removed. Thank you all for your comments.. I suppose when you own a website, you can censor it as you see fit. Not a problem......and we move on.

i am very sorry about that. you can see the pride of accomplishment on their faces. Many of the minutemen who responded to paul revere's call were little older than your grandchildren. Liberty including free speech as well as a free press, , freedom of religion, etc are ultimately guarenteed by the 2nd amendments right to bear arms, as we american citizens are the ultimate militia. marksmanship is also taught by the boy scouts and the explorers.

Not really, but I did not see anything wrong with the post. The kids were just showing off how they passed their hunter safety course. Possibly Admin did not like the discussion of firearms. They did not explain, just sent an automated message that the post and pictures were deleted. And this is nothing personal to a new member as of yesterday, but it will be interesting to see if Admin also deletes the photos of her daughter with a pistol and shotgun.... I happen to think there is nothing wrong with the pictures..but then I don't own the website.

*hugs*
I'm so sorry, DB.

I also commented on the new member's post and was thinking at the time, "why would that post regarding guns be ok but yours not be?"

Afterwards, when I came back to your thread, I was relieved to see that it was still there and thought no more of it.
If I remember right (and I might not); I think the girl in that other poster's photo was 18+.

Perhaps that is what earned censorship, I dunno... but I'm glad to have been able to see the photos and post my appreciation for the purpose behind the post. They will be great marksmen and likely, responsible gun-owners.

That's something to feel good about... whether or not photos can be shared of the accomplishment.

TY Tilde, but its not a big deal. I am sure it is only a purely personal issue with Admin. My grandkids are responsible kids. The state of Tennessee recognizes them as such by issuing them each a hunting permit after successfully completeling the required Hunter Education Course.. consisting of a minimum of 10 hours of classroom education followed by live fire exercise. The course covers:
•Hunter ethics
•Hunter responsibility toward wildlife, the environment, landowners and the general public
•Archery and the history of modern day bowhunting
•Tree stand safety
•History of firearms
•Blackpowder and muzzleloading firearms
•Knowledge of modern firearms and ammunition
•Proper gun handling and storage
•Marksmanship fundamentals
•Hunt preparation: specific laws and various equipment
•Principles of wildlife management and wildlife identification
•Survival
•Hypothermia
•First aid

Time to move on ...... I've said my piece.. and each person can take what they choose from this entire situation... Thanks again for your support.

may i suggest that you send the admin a private message asking why? and if he/she brings up this is a family freindly website remind him that throughout the midwest west south and east coast youngsters learning firearm safety is a rite of passage and that many families hunt together, and fish together, and camp together let us know will you if you do. right now I am not inclined to post anymore of my photos on a site i feel does not respect ALL of the constitution.

I did send a message to them, not asking why, but asking them to remove another gun related post. As far as this being a family friendly website, if you read the Terms of Use it specifically states " ALL PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF 18 ARE DENIED ACCESS TO THIS WEBSITE. IF YOU ARE UNDER 18 YEARS OF AGE, IT IS UNLAWFUL FOR YOU TO VISIT, READ, OR INTERACT WITH THIS WEBSITE OR ITS CONTENTS IN ANY MANNER. THIS WEBSITE SPECIFICALLY DENIES ACCESS TO ANY INDIVIDUAL THAT IS COVERED BY THE CHILD ONLINE PRIVACY ACT (COPA) OF 1998.

Its their website, they will handle it in whatever way they see fit. Its all good....really.

Hey I think more people get hurt with chain saws. We just had a hurricane not that long ago. A lot to be said for training.

DB, I'm sorry this became an issue for you. However, when you consider the fact that anyone can take those px from this website and do whatever they want with them, maybe it wasn't such a bad idea. I for one am careful not to post any pictures of family or friends that could be used/altered and posted somewhere else in a less than desirable way. Pictures of landscapes, flowers, bugs, barns etc can't be used against me or anyone else and can usually get my point accross when I have a question about technique. Scarey world out there... I saw it more as an act of protection rather than political opinion. Kudos to your grandchildren. Responsibility is always a good lesson.

One FINAL post on this thread... I did receive a reply from Admin. The deletion of the post on Proper Training had nothing to do with their view on gun control or firearms education or the protection of children's photos. When the post was first made, I had removed the photos and admin saw that. However they did not delete the post until hours later (you can't have a post in the picture section without a photo) without looking at the post again and seeing that there were 6 photos reposted and a lively discussion going on. And they offered no explanation at the time as to why it was deleted... They did however notice THIS particular thread.. and since it contains no photo it was moved to the chit chat section (which is fine) This is the reply I received to my inquiry...

ROFL. What's with all the drama?

If I remember the post in question, you removed the image and indicated that it might be best not to show it.

Once the topic placed in the Pictures section no longer contains a picture, what's the point of keeping it there?

If you want to discuss gun rights, then feel free to start a new topic in GCC.

And WTF is this?

So its all said and done, time to move on to more exciting things.....

I guess we're never too old to have a misunderstanding.
