This is the wife in a soft focus, grainy B&W film look. Just playing with PP on a quiet weekend afternoon. She hates it. Critique?

And not without cause..
Completely unflattering.
Way too grainy.
This would better serve as settings to avoid ever again. And if that weren't enough
. The lighting is completely messed up in the capture even before the post production work began: her forehead is too dark; a higher key light with some additional fill for portrait work is in order.

In this case, listen to your better half.

Grainy imho is better used on men when you are looking for the grungy look for example an old cowboy.

OK not the worst mistake I ever made. And probably not the last. (not complaining, merely stating a fact) Thanks for the comment.

Despite the negative press, I rather like this. Very reminiscent of the images one sees of 'ghosts.' Is it flattering, well, no, and I can understand why she might not like it. And if you were going for a flattering portrait, it's pretty much a 'fail,' lol. But is it interesting, yeah. Very much so, and exactly the kind of thing I might do myself. Of course, you know I'm not wrapped too tightly, so take the high five here with a grain of salt, lol. But I like it.

Thanks. The good thing about not being too tightly wrapped is that the blood flow is not compromised

Dunno if you do this often......using her for your projects!?
I don't blame her for wanting to castrate you ...(?)....
I'm thinking she may have been with you for a while and you may have behaved well in some cases......but this does not grant you the right to screw up with her looks when you should be reassuring her that everything is alright even though time keeps passing !
