Here's the second half of the story of the eagle and the coot (a couple of these may be a bit gruesome for the faint of heart)... The eagle was enjoying its meal when a second eagle, not shown, appeared and started circling the platform. The first eagle, not wanting to give up or share its meal, decided to take the rest of the coot "to go", and hastily departed. It seemed a bit unsure of its grip on dinner, though, and had to double-check to make sure everything was secure as it flew away... These images, along with the first 6 posted earlier, were all shot from between 75 and 150 yards away in low-contrast conditions, so the sharpness isn't as good as I'd really like, but it's always fun to capture nature in action...
