Vello freewave plus give vello a call. Careful when you buy because some are line of sight and some are from anywhere. Get one that is not line of sight.

The cost of Nikon remote is out of site. Their must be cheaper ones on the market.

I got a remote when I first bought my Nikon. I don't remember what I paid but I don't think it was a lot. I used it a few times when I first got it but now I never even take it with me when I go out.

Nikon ML-L3 remote. $17.95 from B&H Photo. Works fine on your camera.

Are you kidding? $20.50 retail and $18 at third party vendors (B&H, etc.)! Go ahead and buy a $10 aftermarket remote for your $500 camera; you'll save $10 and will be happy while it lasts! Seriously, that is the most cost effective factory made accessory you can get for your camera.

I've had an ML-L3 for years. First got it for a d70, and it still works on a D7200. An unusual amount of compatibility for Nikon.

Nikon's ML-L3 remote is compatible with your D3300, I have both. It can be hit or miss depending on the conditions as it is a line of site type remote, still it's $20 or less. You can also use your iphone or android phone by downloading the control application, there are several out there. Another option is a Vello Shutter Boss II https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/840100-REG/Vello_rc_n2ii_Shutterboss_Version_II_Timer.html
That will run you between $30-$50 but, it's more than just a remote release, if you're just using it as a cabled release you don't even need batteries in it. The unit will still send a focus and release signal to the camera without them. You'll want a unit with the DC-2 connector, there is also a 10 pin version for other Nikon cameras like the D500 and D8xx series. I hope this helps you out a bit, good luck and happy shooting.

Lots of good choice. I've used several, and they all work.

Simply go on eBay- wireless remote less than one dollar;
cable release about three dollars; both with free shipping.
