False color on progress with the Andromeda galaxy

I still haven't got that darn polar scope aligned , it is a "PITA" . I've got it better but, still not quite there yet , I understand now that PA is the key to tracking and guiding . I've got 2 nights straight to see how it cooperates and though it's much better , it's not where it needs to be. The 7 port hub is marvelous both cams work just fine and no dangling cables and no dropped frames. I had paused the stacking and found out later that I should've disconnected the camera , it kept running 1500 frames dumped }unusable}. the weather has finally dropped off and I'm happy. Finally I can get something done and get closer to my goal. False color and enhanced to show progress, I'm getting closer to having it framed . Asi174MM cooled to -10c @ 30.3 s ,35 fr = 1057s int.

Very nicely done Ronnie.

It's that darn camera causing slipping in the focuser, I took my primary and we cleaned it with distilled water and a few drops of dawn . I found one of the springs is garbage and that's something else my" cna" Alanna can fix for me . Then it'll be something else. Thanks Craig , I try really hard and spend a lot of time to get an object.

Nice image!
Not familiar with your focuser, but mine has a tension screw on it that applies pressure to it's adjusting rod. That keeps it from slipping.
(No gears, just an infinite rod/flat surface adjustment. Supposedly zero backlash that way, unlike gears.)

I soon gave up on my Polar Scope as being fine for very course Polar Aiming, but that was it's only worth. I was very disappointed in it.
My mount and equipment is entirely different, of course, but I found by not moving my mount and doing ASPA (All Star Polar Alignment), I get more gnats fannies than nights grannies.
At best, I put Polar Alignment as a physical aiming of the mount. Then the alignment is the fine tuning and final guiding adjustment.
So by not moving my mount, I circumvent a lot of the Polar Alignment woes.

Thanks Craig , I wish I could just set it and forget it but, I don't want the rain or strong winds to demolish my po'man's gear. We've been in hurricane season and it hasn't been pretty . Now we've got a cold front and no clouds to be found , I'm already out out . Back to normal tomorrow and warming trend will continue with mild temps. I just keep plugging away trying this and that Sonny. Something has to work , I'm not going to have any hair left if this persists.
