Windows 10 Latest Update

I have just installed the latest Windows 10 latest fall update, (1709), it was quite quick, less than an hour.
There are quite a lot of new things to discover so I will be busy in the next day or so learning about them. One thing already I like is that I now get notifications from my phone to appear on my PC.
More to come no doubt.

Apple has had this notification feature for a long time. To each their own. I am fine with what ever decision people make relative to computer and cell phone purchases.

There are times when I can't get the phone to work as a phone - I don't need it being able to do more stuff I can't comprehend!

Yeah, but we buy very complex cameras that do more than most can comprehend. There is something to be said for point & shoot where all the creativity is behind the viewfinder. Of course, this from someone with two DSLR's, multiple lenses, and a couple P&S in the glove compartments of the cars.

I recently lost my old Samsung Galaxy s4 which was a hand-m-down from my son. It had gotten completely clogged up with junk from I don't know where. I think AT&T junked it up. Now I've got another hand-me-down that is quite clean. Nice.

At 87 Im not up on all these new do dads. When my son comes and takes me out to dinner he drives my car. He just talks to the dashboard and makes reservations. What will they think of next. Maybe Ill try that. Ill open the glove box and find my ham and eggs.

It's almost like having a Genie in a bottle but she's in your dash. LOL

I've always wanted to have Don Rickles as the voice of my nav system, with all the add ons.....like, "you've now reached your destination.... how'd you manage that dufus?" "After the next left take the next right....no....the other left, moron!!"

My experience has not been so good. The upgrade eliminated the use of USB 3.0 powered hubs--which I had been using to connect six external hard drives. In my efforts to fix that problem, I did something to corrupt the entire installation. I finally reinstalled Windows 10, but the USB hub problem is still there--and now I have to reinstall all my programs; the tough part is remembering how to install some that are less than happy to work with Windows 10. What a pain! My internal data hard drive mirror is fine and has all of my pictures safe on it (and I still have my external drives, they are just not as convenient).
